We have been receiving some questions about the Comcast Xfinity X1 settop box with XR11 voiceactivated remote control. We have determined that this remote uses both RF and IR, and you may need to some additional steps to learn the codes and get the X1 working with a Global Caché IR device.

May 19, 2014· I located the IR sensor on the X1 box with a bright flashlight. There is a big round thing behind the glass to the right of "record" marked led. Once I positioned the remote extender transmitter on the IR sensor it worked fine. Apparently X1 sensor is not very sensitive and needs to be directly in front IR transmitter.
